By examining the fact that the organization of provincial colleges and universities has become an important part in China's national educational system while conducted poor performance in educational quality, the papers points out the significance of elaborate textbook construction in them in shaping the educational quality. Then, the paper illustrates the definition, classification and characteristics of the elaborate textbook, takes teaching pathology as its theoretical framework, diagnoses the pathological mechanism and pathema in the constructing elaborate textbook in provincial colleges and universities, analyses the causes of pathema in the elaborate textbook by provincial colleges and universities, and lastly proposes some tentative countermeasures so as to make the construction of elaborate textbook sustainable.The thesis falls into five parts.The first part is the introduction. Based on the discussion over the fundamental theoretical issues such as definition, classification and characteristics, the thesis examines the fact that the organization of provincial colleges and universities has become an important part in China's national educational system while conducted poor performance in educational quality, and expound the purpose and significance of the study.The second part concentrates on the main types and symptoms of the illnesses of constructing elaborate textbook in provincial colleges and universities. The study of the main types and symptoms is based on the analysis of the content and course of constructing elaborate textbook in provincial colleges and universities.The third part is on the causes of the illness of constructing elaborate textbook in provincial colleges and universities. And the papers analyses the causes from the following four aspects:subject factor, norm factor, theoretical factor and social factor. The fourth part focuses on the countermeasures of preventive treatment for the illness rising from the constructing elaborate textbook in provincial colleges and universities. The main countermeasures are the following:improving the norm system, enhancing teacher's professional qualification, and creating favorable circumstance.Part fifth is the conclusion of the thesis.
