With the education situation development and educational reform unceasingly thorough, the secondary vocational school education has appeared some new change. The establishment conforms to the vocational education characteristic new teaching material system, is our country vocational education reform development important work. Along with "Secondary vocational school mathematics program of instruction" revised in 2009, the change and the service condition about new teaching material are paid attention. Comparative research on new and old teaching material will certainly have the profound influence to mathematics teaching. Therefore, the result of this thesis will provide some advisory opinion on the next teaching material which will be edited again. It will be able to grasp the teaching material and improve teaching method for teachers. It will provide the beneficial model for mathematics educational reform and the development.This thesis takes teaching materials published by People's Education Press as the object of study, analyses the section of function in two sets of teaching materials published in 2001 and 2009. This thesis make use of many research methods such as documents research, comparison research, statistical analysis and case analysis and so on, to analyze the change deeply into the teaching material table of contents, the class hour assignment, the form of the content presented, the sample question arrangement, the exercise arrangement. Then use curriculum difficulty quota comparison model N =λ·GT + (1 -λ)·S/T to analyze curriculum difficulty between two sets of teaching materials.This thesis pointed out that compared with the old teaching material, the section of function in new teaching material keeps the old content frame and carries on a small adjustment. It seeps the opinion of new program and new curriculum reform, emphasizes the application value of mathematics. It makes new attempt in the system arrangement, the class hour assignment, the content presented form, exercise and so on. It pays more attention to algorithm consciousness and development ability. It reduces the content and the request of the function to suit for secondary vocational students. We can find that the curriculum reform presents three tendencies: near to life, teaching different student with different material, the attention to information technology and humanism spirit.
