Rural vocational education has a close relationship with the economy. School running patterns are vital to the development of the rural vocational education. Any pattern of school running pattern is rooted in the realistic social environment. With the changes of social environment, the school running patterns need to be developed and consummated continuously. This article is aimed to discuss the characteristics and development trend of the school running patterns of rural vocational education based on the analysis of some typical ones that were created at the different level of our country economy.First, the article discusses the school running patterns of rural vocational education in theory from different aspects of the practical conclusion and literature review. It explains some factors that influence the establishment of the school running patterns of rural vocational education, such as the development level of the area economy, the extent of the government attaches any importance to the rural vocational education, the society participation and the school running conditions of the Education Department and the school itself. It also puts forward some important principle for the establishment of the school running patterns of rural vocational education, such as the benefit principle, the adaptation principle, the diversity principle, the openness principle and the locality principle etc.Second, the article analyses some typical school running patterns of rural vocational education that appeared in the different periods of our country. It chooses the patterns that have significant influence on the development of rural vocational education since 1980's and some are implemented currently. Moreover, it also introduces the experiences of their success.Third, the article sums up the characteristics of school running patterns of rural vocational education based on the analysis of some typical school running patterns, that is strengthening government's overall planning, integrating three kinds of education, combining departments of agriculture, technology and education, diversifying the styles of joint school running. Fourth, the article looks into the future of the school running patterns of rural vocational education based on the government policy and the relation between the economy and education. It concludes that in the future the school running pattern will shift to unification of the city and countryside rather than division of them, education after employment rather than before it, specialization rather than all-around development.
