The research was conducted in under the overall background with gradually implemented High School History curriculum reform. With more and more attention paid to education by the government, the educational improvements are made not only in material environment of teaching, but also "soft-environment" which essentially affects the teaching quality. The Curriculum Reform in Elementary Education is a significant symbol of focusing on educational "soft-environment". The new curriculum of high school History course clearly states that more emphasis should be put on cultivating students'capability of learning History knowledge, students'independent, cooperative and investigative learning style as well as a sound learning atmosphere which would be helpful for students'study and overall development. Therefore, researches regarding components of teaching "soft-environment" of high school History class are of great importance in high school History teaching. Under the "soft-environment" research process under New Curriculum, this paper realizes the characteristics of History, analyzes components of class teaching "soft-environment", aiming at optimizing the teaching order and accomplishing the goal of high school History course.First of all, the paper starts with a comprehensive analysis of high school History teaching "soft-environment" research status both home and abroad. The researches and achievements of scholars (home and abroad) shows little evidence directly related to teaching "soft-environment" theme in China as well as outside the country. Yet, considerable papers and articles about specific component of "soft-environment", such as interrelationship during class, teaching atmosphere, etc, could be found. And they all have achieved some extent of significance. The credit and feasibility of the paper is guaranteed with its basis on current researches mentioned before and the importance of the theme.Then, the paper defines the teaching "soft-environment". It divides the teaching environment into two categories as "hard-environment" and "soft-environment". "Soft-environment" refers to intangible things which affect the class teaching with all purposes focusing on "class". The paper then classifies components of the "soft-environment" based on previous definitions and classifications regarding teaching "soft-environment" given by relevant scholars. Also, the paper applies those components to high school History course, during which their significance could be demonstrated.After demonstrating the theoretical foundation of Classroom teaching "soft environment", the paper further illustrates how to utilize teaching "soft-environment" and related elements to create good high school history classroom atmosphere and conform to the teaching philosophy under New Curriculum Reform, so as to reach the most purposeful education results from several aspects of individual factors from the teachers and students, classroom relationships and teaching methods and atmosphere.Finally, the paper talks about the importance and measures of high school History class soft environment. Through the research of the theory, components and building methods of the "soft-environment", the paper can better guide the high school History teaching. The study of "soft-environment" also plays important role in motivating the development of high school History teaching, enhancing students' learning ability, improving students'psychological health and teachers'teaching ability as well.
