The Research And Implementation Of Stratification Agent System Based On SNMP

As computer networks begin to reach everywhere in the society, network management becomes very important. SNMP plays a significant role among numerous network management modes, it is the industrial standard of network management in fact. SNMP agent is the kernel entity of SNMP network management, it is a kind of software resident in the managed network devices, which can access their run-time status, device characteristics, system configuring parameters and other correlative information.The thesis focuses on researching the protocol of SNMP and the mechanisms of IDB module according to modern management needs, and proposes an implementation method of a stratification agent system based on SNMP.Firstly, some theories and protocols about SNMP network management are introduced in paper, include SMI (Structure of Management Information), MIB (Management Information Base), protocol operations and definition formats of PDU (Protocol Data Unit). Secondly, IDB (Information Data Base) is introduced base on the comparison about the characteristics of several network management modes. Then, the internal structure, memory mechanism and interface function of IDB is elaborated.After that, the implementation of the stratification agent system and the partition of modules are put forward, including message receiving and sending module, message encoding and decoding module, ordinary message processing module, notify message processing module and IDB interface module. Furthermore, the design ideas, realization flows and key techniques of every module are expatiated in this paper.At last, problems and possible solutions about the stratification agent system are discussed. All this has utility worthiness, and could be a reference for further development.
