This thesis makes a research on three Chinese prepositions "Chao(朝)”、"Xiang(向)”and "Wang(往)”,which have a close meaning and using. At the first, compare these three prepositions on the respective syntactic and semantic description. Prepositional constructions"朝/向/往+NP" all can be adverbials before subject, attributes and adverbials in syntactic function,“向/往+NP" also can be complements. No matter what a function they acts as,"朝/向/往,ire all strict with the verbs and objects. Secondly, the paper has drawn such conclusion on the base of analysis:“朝"indicates the direction of movement, it doesn’t indicate the object of movement;"向"indicates the direction and the object of movement;"往’’only indicates the move direction of movement. On the base of comparison of respective syntactic and semantic description, the paper describes the situation of replacement and analysis the reason why they are different. In the end, the paper put forward focused Chinese-teaching strategy and planning for Chinese learners who are in the initial stage.
