A Comparative Study Of "?(Xiang),?(Wang),?(Chao)" And The Error Analysis Of The Language Acquisition By Thai Students

The Chinese Preposition is one of the most important categories in Chinese Grammatical System, which is quite confusing for foreign students to distinguish the usage of these prepositions. That's the reason why the Chinese Preposition is a difficult part in Teaching Chinese to Speakers of Other Languages. The Chinese characters "?(xiang)" "?(wang)"“?(chao)" have the similar using in declaring the direction and objects apart from their subtle differences.This thesis comprises three parts. Part 1 summarizes the research status about the using in declaring the direction and objects of "?(xiang)"“?(wang)" "?(chao)" and compares the grammatical function and expression feature of "?(xiang)" "?(wang)" "?(chao)". All of the three Chinese Preposition indicate the direction and the object of movement. They acts as the adverbials and complements between the subject and the predicates. However, "?(wang)" indicates only the direction of movement and "?(chao)" can't act as the complement. What's more, "?(xiang)"“?(wang)" "?(chao)" embellish the verbs with abstract meaning, and“?(wang)" "?(chao)" embellish the verbs indicating movements not the psychological statements, such as“??(jie shi)"“??(xue xi)"“??(dao qian)". Part 2 analyzes the difficulties in translate "?(xiang)"“?(wang)" "?(chao)" into Thai language and the reasons. "?(xiang)"“?(wang)" "?(chao)" are usually translated as "soo?kae?dae?to? gab?jak?tueng?mung?pa?hai" in Thailand, which are not equivalent translation. It is the complicated grammatical function of "?(xiang)"“?(wang)" "?(chao)" that leads to the large amount of errors among students from Thailand. Part 3 makes a questionnaire with the Chinese major students in Roi Et Rajabhat University and analyzes their errors in using“?(xiang)" "?(wang)" "?(chao)". At last, it gives advices in the language teaching of "?(xiang)" "?(wang)" "?(chao)" in Thailand.
