With the rapid development of the higher vocational college, the requirement for the teaching quality becomes higher and higher. Although there are many factors that can affect the teaching quality, undoubtedly, classroom teaching becomes the largest supporter for assuring the teaching quality. Up to now, through looking into the fact of the classroom teaching in the higher vocational colleges, the teachers still adopt the traditional teaching methods which are inflexible and old. The students just sit there to listen to the teacher’s lecture without taking part in any diverse classroom activities. Meanwhile, the teachers don’t pay attention to the differences of students’ learning ability etc. All the above-mentioned problems can become the biggest obstacles that have influenced the teaching quality which results in many teachers’behavior is ineffective and even invalid. The study of English classroom teaching in higher vocational colleges is carried out based on the thorough investigation, the theoretical analysis and case study so as to find out the factors that influence higher vocational English classroom teaching effectiveness, and then analyze the causes to seek effective measures as well as to practice them in order to put forward valuable suggestions to improve the effectiveness of higher vocational English classroom teaching.Beginning with the analysis of the present situation of English teaching in the higher vocational colleges, the study analyzes the factors influencing the teaching effectiveness by observing classroom activities, questionnaires, interviews and other research methods. And it also analyzes the strategies of effective English classroom teaching methods on the theoretical analysis and research level. This paper explores English classroom organization strategies, classroom questioning strategies and class organization forms, practice mode and other aspects. Various strategies are introduced in details for the connotation, characteristics, principles and types of the methods. Among them,"stratification teaching","teaching on spot" and "reflective teaching" are selected and practiced. The result show that these three strategies has improved the quality of English teaching, promoted the development of English teachers’ ability and cultivate the student’s English ability.Main significance and contribution of this study lies in the fact that it not only demonstrates the effective strategies in higher vocational English classroom teaching has practical value and feasibility, but change the present teaching mode through the above-mentioned methods as well. Research shows that through the study of strategies for organizing the classroom teaching, questioning strategy and organization strategy for teachers to improve the current traditional backward teaching ideas and methods. And it has played an important role in improving the quality of higher vocational English classroom teaching. And it lays a foundation for scholars and teachers to do the further research on the higher vocational teaching effectiveness.
