Family life is an important part of social life. As the center of the housekeeping,the household management is necessary from past to now.In a patriarchal society dominated tradition,housekeeping is jointly implemented by the husband and wife.But in modern China,by the impact of the “Modern Home Economic”from the western and Japan,the meaning of household management of the late Qing Dynasty changed from traditional.And gradually inclined to the implementation of the main independent position assumed by women.It makes us think deeply about it’s social role building in it.With the surging of the modern woman’s liberation movement,a large number of female school,female independence and equality of women came into the press.When the first women press “Women education”came out in 1898,too many women press had sprung up everywhere in modern China,such as “the woman’s world”,“the woman’s time”,“the Ladies’ Journal(Funii zazhi)”,and“the Nvduo press”and so on.They promoted the further development of women’s emancipation thought with their wide influence.The Ladies ’Journal which exist in 1915-1931 years,made it’s big influence especially in the women,when it came through 17 years in the modern China.Meanwhile, the domestic content throughout it and guide new women learn to use scientific knowledge and methods appropriate auspices family.It not only contains the daily life of clothing, food, shelter, the education of women in the family as "the mother role" of children,but also includes family financial concerns and rationalize operations.What’s more,it also includes women’s self-image and aesthetic shaping.In this process,the home economics concept of modern economic, health was gradually established for the establishment of a harmonious,modern scientific small family foundation.In this paper,the author will talk about the women’s household management life with the woman press of China’s early Republican to the early thirties,espacially with“the Ladies’ Journal”.The author will use the history,sociology,home economics and other disciplines and space theory,gender theory to analysis the modern change of the home economic life and family image of Shanghai’s Educated Women,after they experienced the change of traditional to social and the ups and downs of the women’s liberation movement.And through the discussion to analysis the newspapers’ function as the media for the building of women’s image at that time.
