A Report On Translation Practice Of English - Chinese Translation Of Annual Report

Under the background of economic globalization, annual financial report plays an important part in maintaining and developing relationship between enterprises and the relevant interest groups, improving the capital markets, and promoting efficient allocation of resources, etc. It has become the main tool for enterprises to communicate with the foreign parts and the main carrier of information disclosure. In China, however, this kind of information communication has not been fully developed, especially in some small and medium-sized enterprises. Instead, foreign enterprises are walking in the preface. In order to make the development of China’s small and medium-sized enterprises in line with international standards as soon as possible, fully implement the strategy of “outbound finance”, and better use the market and the resources both home and abroad, we need to do a lot of research about the text characteristics of fiscal annual reports of foreign enterprises. However, the premise is to translate the foreign annual financial report into Chinese for scholars to study. This report consulted the results of predecessors’ research, systematically summarized the business text characteristics from different aspects, and used a large number of parallel texts to concretely analyze the second part of Fiscal Year 2013 Annual Financial Report of the Walt Disney Company from the aspects of words and sentences. It put forward specific methods to solve the problems met during the translation process.
