Nowadays, cultural strength has become a powerful force during the international competition.Its role in promoting economic development has reached an unprecedented height. As an emerging industry in twenty-first Century, the potential of cultural industry for development is vast and need to be unlocked. In recent years, the global cultural industry havs become a major new growth point in the aspects of international trade, employment, and national income. Korean cultural industry is particularly prominent in the performance of the economic contribution. From a copy of Korean drama to the trendy fashion K-pop stars, Cultrual industry makes a small country in East Asia the present economic technological power in more than ten years. With the high quality export products and high market acceptance, Korean cultural industry achieved a favorable balance of trade, and become a trade powerful nation. The cultural industry is still in the initial stage in China. To fully explore the intrinsic value of the cultural industry also needs a long period of exploration. South Korea and China share the similar traditions and cultural value. Learning from the experience of the Korean cultural industry is an available way to guide Chinese cultural industry, which has more practical value too.This text contains six chapters. The first and second chapters introduce the research background, research significance, research methods and related concepts. The third chapter is about the development history of Korean cultural industry. According to the import and export data in recent years, it’s more reasonable to analyze the current situation of the development of Korean cultural trade, and then summed up the characteristics of trade. The fourth chapter is about to use Potter’s diamond model as a tool, taking the present popular Korean drama "My love from the stars " as an example to analyse the influence of factors: production, cultural trade demand factors, related and supporting industries, business strategy, structure, competition, the behavior of the government and the opportunities faced. In the fifth chapter, the current development of Chinese cultural trade is introduced and it is also mentioned that the Chinese cultural trade deficit phenomenon is serious, and export structure is not reasonable enough. Finally, in the sixth chapter, the article puts forward suggestions to improve the competitiveness of Chinese cultural trade. As for the government, we should pay more attention to the development of cultural industry, and also need to actively encourage the innovation in cultural industry. For companies, they are supposed to deeply understand the market demand, so the product quality can be improved. They also need to join the international cooperation, so the Chinese culture can shine on the world stage.
