This thesis surveyed some Pilipino students, whom learn Mandarin in the Confucius Institute at Bulacan State University, and analyzed how they learnt these five Comparisons: "bi" sentence, "gen...yiyang " sentence, "you" sentence, "xiang" sentence, "buru" sentence and "yuelaiyue" sentence. I summed up five common types of errors:malapropism, redundancy of composition, incompleteness of composition, dislocation of composition, combination of different comparative sentences. On one side, these errors are made by negative transfer of Pilipino and English, over-generalization of Chinese knowledge that they learnt before and simplified learning method. On the other side, teaching material and teaching methods also make a great influence on these errors. Therefore, teachers can adjust their teaching methods like this:arrange the Comparison from easy level to hard level, combine deductive method and inductive method while teaching, and attach importance to semantics, pragmatics of the Comparison as well as the communication function.
