Because of closing to the Yangtze river and the sea, Baoshan region has been suffering a wave of influence, so, in order to facilitate famine relief, It divisioned itself into several soup kitchens, which became administrative gradually. Wusong area was separated from the city plant as Wusong plant, as a result, Wusong plant began to develop the major community development model, which take "plant" as a unit.Finally, In modern times, duing to the silting problem of Wusong-estuary, Shanghai, which was developing rapidly, provided an opportunity for Wusong’ urbanization. Being beset with troubles internally and externally, Wu Song has twice inception spontaneous construction. In this period of time, Construction of port traffic, Street pavement and other aspects laid the preliminary foundation for Wusong to become a port city. And Wusong gradually formed “expand and thrive depending on Port” as its urban development direction. So, Wusong developed into a commercial powerhouse form a single military town 、 "University Park", which’s function gradually diversified.Throughout the urbanization of Wusong, mainly affected by the geographical environment and historical background, in each historical period, it formed different types of community development model. With the establishment of Shanghai Special City,Wusong was classified as Port area, the main development model of which’s Community structure is business and port. Thanks to Shanghai, Wu Song has been developed, and it’s why Wu Song could not be independent, and eventually became a part of Shanghai.
