Research On Effective Teaching Of Public English In Local Finance And Economics

Economic globalization has dramatically increased the demand for the interdisciplinary talents who are proficient in English in the field of trade and business activities. However, in recent years, the expansion of economics and management students enrollment has allowed a significant increase in the number of students, but the student quality training is not satisfactory, especially in the local university of economics and management. In this context, the author studies the effectiveness of English teaching of Guizhou University of Finance and Economics from the perspective of financial students’ English quality.On the basis of international study status, firstly, this paper clearly define the financial talents required professional quality features and University English training requirements. Secondly, this paper respectively from the perspective of students and teachers studies the current situation of University English class in Guizhou University of Finance and Economics through observation, questionnaires and interviews in order to analyze the effectiveness of local finance and economics university English teaching and identify the deficiency of current University English in effective teaching. Thirdly, with correlation analysis identify the specific factors that affect the effective teaching.Finally, putting forward the improvements of teaching strategies include strengthening ties between English teaching and profession development, strengthening interactive teaching, making hierarchical and classified teaching, proving English learning support system according to the requirement of effective English teaching for financial students and the influence factors of effective teaching. Such measures can help clarify the direction of reform of University English teaching for University of Financial and Economics, improve the financial students’ English quality, which are valuable and meaningful to the University English teaching in the future long-term planning and scientific decision-making.
