| In order to improve the quality of graduate education,as well as the teaching and researching capacity of English teachers, the in-deepth survey was carried out for English teaching status and English studying status of postgraduates. Based on the investigation in the theory and the analysis in the researching, the effective strategies of English teaching for postgraduates was established It is available for English teaching of postgraduates and the theory workers.Through the self questionnare in 300 postgraduates at higher school,The survey was founded that current Engling teaching for postgraduates cannot meet the needs of students;the objective of English teaching is not clear;the contents of English teaching cannot be combined with the students'subjects;the methods of English teaching are not flexible;the evalations of English teaching are odd.The effective strategies of English teaching for postgraduates was established. Firstly the preparing strategies of the effective English teaching were studied, and the study requirement of postgraduates was grasped; and the study objective of postgraduates was confirmed, and the teaching content was analyzed. And then the research teaching strategies of English was studied, and the character of the research teaching was analyzed, the executed stage of the research teaching was discussed, and the questions which should be paid attention when the research teaching model was put forward. The evaluation strategies of the effective English teaching were confirmed:the evaluation index system was established from the angle of postgraduate self-evaluation, the evaluation among students and the evaluation content. The methods combining quantitative with qualitative evaluation was studied, and the processing evaluate method was strengthened. Finally, the strategies for improving the English teaching ability of English teacher were improved:the English teacher of postgraduate should establish new teaching ideas and improve the teaching ability.
