Mankind has entered the era of the knowledge economy and the rapid development of science and technology in21st century, education also has been unprecedented attention and development. Faced with the deepening of China’s education reform comprehensively and quality education promoted, the National Arts Education in Normal Colleges showing unprecedented development of the situation. In this context, the dance teaching reform is imperative in Normal Colleges.This study, exploring the theoretical basis of effective teaching dance, basic characteristics first, hoping provide theoretical support for effective teaching in Normal Colleges dance professional. Then focusing on the effective teaching, this study takes A college as a case to investigate and analyze the effective teaching by using multiple methods, such as analysis, documentation, observation, interview and so on. Research found:the orientation of the effective teaching goals is unclear; the teaching content is unsystematic; the teaching methods and evaluation are unitary.Based on it, this research analyzes the impact factors of effective teaching on A College, analysis shows that:teachers and students were affected in varying degrees effective teaching. Based on interpretative understandings in case study and relevant theory, this study proposes some suggestions about establishment the specific teaching objectives; Design effective teaching strategies; carry out effective evaluation and so on.
