This research illustrates the subjective and objective factors which affect the use of the characteristic monosyllabic verbs of Northeastern Mandarin. It describes the classification, the syntactic functions and pragmatic features through social linguistics research methods and selects Wei Xing community and two rural communities as the survey sites,demonstrating the usage variance of the characteristic monosyllabic verbs in terms of residence, gender, age, education and profession, which is based on the questionnaire data of 30 characteristic monosyllabic verbs.In terms of semantics, the Northeastern Mandarin characteristic monosyllabic verbs belong to action verbs, which includes various concrete actions except words and psychology in a broad sense, this means the body can make instant response, such as beng and chua. These verbs are as specific action verbs. It also includes the abstract action or behavior which related to psychology, language, feelings, perceptions, such as chou and lian which are classified as abstract action verbs. From the point of view of grammar, base on Whether to take patient object, terms can be divided into transitive verbs and intransitive verbs. And transitive verbs including nominal transitive verbs, verbal transitive verbs, ditransitive transitive verbs.In terms of pragmatic function,the Northeastern Mandarin characteristic monosyllabic verbs reflect the features of thick spoken style, heavy derogatory sense and strong vivid value. As for collocation function, they can combine with the nouns and even with the verbs, adjectives, quantifiers under certain conditions. Meanwhile,using as predicates,one or double objects can be followed and sometimes even none when it comes to syntactic function. The object of psychological verbs and auxiliary verbs is another function. When they are used as attributive, they should combine with de first, and then a noun.The study reveals that the use of characteristic monosyllabic verbs of the Northeastern Mandarin is closely related to a variety of social variables as followed:Place of residence. The rate of awareness,usage and common usage in rural areas is higher than urban areas.Age.The rate of awareness and common usage in the middle-aged group hit the maximum value while the youth group is at the bottom and the old-aged group ranks in the middle.Gender. Female speakers are higher than male speakers.Education. A successive increase in terms of the rate of awareness,usage and common usage occurred in high school group, college group and primary school.The education of respondents and its usage rate are related oppositely.Procession. Among the four profession groups, the rate showed a consecutive rise from students to farmers.Subjective and objective factors affect the usage. The former includes the positive attitude towards mandarin,the positive attitude towards the investigation terms and the different attitudes towards various local cultures. The latter includes the promotion of mandarin, the improvement of education level, media influence, population flow as well as the interpersonal relation and the decrease of the related activities.
