| To commemorate the 20 th anniversary of China-Korea diplomatic ties, two representative organizations of the two countries – Hanban and Korea National Institute for International Education started CPIK project in 2012 jointly. CPIK is for Chinese Program in Korea, which is an important Chinese language education project under ‘China-Korea Teacher Exchange and Cooperation Agreement’. However, with the rapid development of Chinese language education in Korea, the situation investigation of KoreaChinese teaching for each region is indeed very small. Taking advantage of the teaching opportunity in CPIK Volunteer Program, I conducted a visited survey for 37 CPIK Chinese volunteer teachers and three Korean teachers in nine middle schools of Daejeon, as well as a sample survey for 200 students of Songchun Middle School and 200 students of Songchun High School. CPIK teachers’ basic information, students’ basic information, the choice of Chinese teaching materials, curriculum, teaching situations and teaching issues were investigated. The Chinese teaching problems of Daejeon were concluded from the survey result, and the corresponding comments were proposed. Hopefully the our development of Chinese teaching in Daejeon as well as the entire Korea can be promoted in the future. |
