Since the reform and opening up, China is growing more powerful, and the world is bullish on China. More and more foreigners are willing to learn Chinese and understand China. According to the survey, advanced foreign learners of Chinese language is no longer merely content with the "speak, and write", their higher pursuit is "learning culture, learn thought ". At the same time, more and more foreigners want to do jobs like business, travel, translation, research, cultural exchange and even foreign affairs.For this kind of learners, they not only learn Chinese language as a learning object and communication tool, but also interested in the language expression of "implication" and cultural connotation. Understanding and grasping the Chinese culture, therefore, can help advanced learners of Chinese make economic and cultural communication better.But in the current curriculum system of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, language courses account for the proportion of the vast, of which culture courses lag behind obviously in development and research. In result, the supply of culture courses can not meet the demand of the society. The urgent problems need to be solved about culture special are as follows: what cultural courses? How to carry out effective teaching activities? What culture curriculum system can we offer to foreign students? And so on.For the problem of shortage of academic resources and exploration, in this paper, the author selected this aspect as the research object, starting from the teaching design of culture class, explores new ways of culture teaching Chinese as a foreign language. However, due to the extensive and profound Chinese culture, there are many choices of the breakthrough point. How to choose the starting point is very important. After the comprehensive consideration of various factors, this paper decides to start from the ancient legend of heroes, choosing the character image of heroine Hua Mulan, which is domestic widely known and "popular" worldwide showing as the breakthrough point. Through the teaching of legend story, opera video and animation clips showing, character role play, character dough modeling this paper introduces Hua Mulan from all angles. In this way, we can teach through lively activities and further explains the traditional Chinese virtues and values behind the character. More importantly, through this Chinese culture course, learners can gain path and method of understanding Chinese culture.The paper is divided into five parts: the first part, reviews the research background, display research idea and purpose. The second part, introduces the theoretical basis of teaching design, makes the correct theoretical guidance for the completion of teaching design. The third part, analyzes the teaching objects, teaching target, and makes the teaching design more targeted. Introduces teaching plan on the implementation of specific ideas, arranges teaching content, and chooses appropriate teaching methods. The fourth part, the teaching design of culture course "Heroine Hua Mulan", which is divided into four modules: Hua Mulan legend, Chinese traditional virtues embodied in Hua Mulan, comparison between Hua Mulan and virtuousness, "Mulan" culture materialized. Through the four modules Hua Mulan’s image is introduced from all aspects. The fifth part, self-assessment and reflection on the culture class teaching.Results of this paper have been applied in Mongolian class in Shandong University of Science and Technology during the practice teaching. Considering the features of the high-level learners, the author has combined the characteristics of cultural teaching during actual practicing, and then drawn up the specific operational teaching design case, which have achieved good teaching effect. The author hopes to promote the teaching design achievement of this course, on the one hand, to help advanced learners of Chinese language more easily understand Chinese culture, on the other hand, to discuss together with other researchers of related fields prefunding about Chinese culture teaching.
