Every nation in the world has its own specific national cultural history. These culture reflected in the language has formed the national custom words. On the basis of summarizing the previous studies on the teaching of National Cultural Words and the research results of Chinese saying, the paper divides three chapters to study the teaching of National Cultural Words in foreign language teaching. The first chapter is divided into four parts, introducing the generation of National Cultural Words, the seven types of National Cultural Words, the four main characteristics of National Cultural Words and the reasons for the generation of the National Cultural Words. In the second chapter, using the questionnaire survey way, on different levels of Chinese overseas students of National Cultural Words acquisition situation and actual investigation and study, the results are more comprehensive analysis and research, and points out that the students the problems existing in the study of National Cultural Words. Through the collection of "HSK dynamic composition corpus" in the part of National Cultural Words and expressions errors corpus, analysis of the reasons for the errors of students. The third chapter focuses on the necessity of teaching Chinese as a foreign language, and in the light of the existing problems and deficiencies, the teaching principles and teaching methods should be adopted in the course of teaching Chinese as a foreign language.
