This article selects the youth film of the Sixth Generation Film Directors in 1990 s and the youth film of the New Generation Film Directors in recent years as main research object. Through comparative analysis, the article which seeks to find out cultural change of youth film between two generations, explore the youth culture and aesthetic style of the film and explore youth culture property in contemporary youth film.At first, the article defines youth film, youth culture, subcultures and other related concepts. There are two youth film upsurges in Chinese mainland so far: youth film of the Sixth Generation Film Directors and youth film of the New Generation Film Directors. And they are closely related with youth culture. According to the demands of the new realism, Sixth Generation director pursue truth as beauty, and they merge incredible creation. Their youth film show marginal, oppositional and other characteristics of youth culture. Protagonist of the film is little people who live in urban fringe or county seat. Some of the works deeply depict rock roll, the youth imaginatively express their individual revolt against mainstream ideology in the crazy play. These films expose violence, death, lust dissatisfaction and other cruel phenomenon in growth process. The movies also show the spiritual bewildered and the phenomenon of finding spiritual father in the youth.The new generation of youth film is deeply influenced by popular culture, consumer culture. Youth Subculture is incorporated by business in a certain degree. Youth film in this period form a wave of nostalgia through scene reconstruction and ceremony presentation. At the same time these works no longer focus on urban fringe and county seat, and begin to show the fashion, desire of the metropolitan. In a public environment, sex topics, which is peeled off from the traditional sense, are presented by a gamification, comedy way. And some films are directed in female perspective; they focus on their situation and concepts. So they provide important reference value in the part of self-awareness and identity construction.Obviously, from the sixth generation to the new generation, the youth film develops from “Youth Cruelty" to "youth consumption". The marginal, oppositional and other characteristics of youth subculture are clearly weakened. There have been some value-oriented problems in youth films. Too much emphasis on self-personality, ignore social responsibility, love flooding, materialistic, human indifference, intrigue.etc. The audience of youth film are mainly "After 80s"and" after 90s", while youth film artistically present contemporary youth culture, but also focus on value-oriented issues.
