A Study On The Social Security System And Social Welfare Level In Russia

With the consistent development of global economy and lasting stabilization ininternational peace system, social security and social welfare are playing anindispensable part in microeconomic policy of countries to ensure the standard of livingof their citizens. Generally speaking, social security system is consisted of pensionsystem, medical security and unemployment benefits, which are also the main parts ofsocial welfare system. The present thesis starts from the introduction of social securityin Russia (pension, medical care and unemployment benefits) in order to analyze theircontents, address the problems and offer correspondent suggestions. For commenting onthe level of social welfare, main indexes are selected to make comparisons with othercountries. In conclusion, the level of Russia’s social welfare is ranked among the topswhen compared with that of developing countries while ranked medium and even lowpart when compared with that of developed countries.
