The al-Qaeda’s leader, Osama Bin Laden, was gunned down by the US special force on May11,2011. It has been the most influential achievement the US reached since the "9.11".But will the al-Qaeda and terrorism be completely overthrown and vanish still remained uncertain. The Norway7.22massacre showed us terrorism is still active around the world and is no longer the monopoly of the traditional terrorist group. The threat of terrorism is now over the globe, and the ideology of terrorism is infiltrating by its particular development mode. As the strategy of the US proved to be just a temporary solution, how to figure out a permanent solution is an urgent issue. The author believes forming an effective mechanism should start from dealing the origin of terrorism and combing with the international cooperation.This article firstly reviews the history and then makes a synthesis about how terrorism started to originate and expand as to understand the menace of terrorism to the world.After that, against the background of racial conflict, religious militancy and the relationship between terrorism and super powers, this article focusing on the source of terrorism about its cultural, political and ideological aspects to figure the solution out.Finally, through the discussion upon a series of international convention, we found those conventions have been proposing several methods to against terrorism.
