This paper introduces the rising background of virtual consulting organization, discusses the problems in its management, analyzes the construction process and puts forward several management suggestions. There are four chapters in this issue.Chapter one introduces the rising background of virtual consulting organization and management problems . This chapter has two sections. The first section analyzes the rising background and current development of virtual consulting organization. It firstly introduces the knowledge about virtual organization and its related research fruit. Secondly, it puts forward present difficulties in Chinese consulting industry, compares virtual consulting organization with traditional ones , and the necessity for application of virtual organization spirit in consulting industry. Finally, it introduces the main operation modes for consulting organization virtualization. The second section discusses the management problems of communication, cultural contradiction, and fragile trust in virtual consulting organization.Chapter two indicates some matters needing attention in the construction course of virtual consulting organization. Firstly, it describes the life cycle of virtual consulting organization, and points out the six key factors in its construction. Next, it discusses the principles and methods for cognition to business opportunity and company election . In the last two sections, organization framework design based on the model of virtual consulting organization is analyzed.Chapter three puts forward management suggestions from four aspects. The first section discusses the importance, features and the tactics of knowledge management in virtual consulting organization. The second section illustrates the four periods of virtual consulting organization project management , and emphasizes important factors needing attention. Section three deals with the features and ways of human resource management of virtual consulting organization. The last section make analysis about the situation of intellectual property protection in virtual consulting organization, points out we should establish its intellectual property protection mechanism by laws and technologies.Chapter four introduces several successful cases of virtual consulting organization.
