Study On The Industrial Competitiveness Of Hubei Province

The strategy of Central China Rising has been in the process of implement. Under this background, Hubei is a very important province in Central China. Hoping to take the lead in rising in Central China and promote the economy of Hubei rising rapidly, it should do research on the integrated competitiveness of Hubei firstly. A country, a region, a city, even an enterprise, can not maintain animate competitiveness without the effect of industrial promoting. The industry is the outcome of economy accumulating before and the basis of economy rising in the future. It shows the way and level of economic development. And it is the main factor and core power for promoting the regional economy development. Also it determines the integrated economic power of the region and the people's living level to a great extent.The Eleventh Five-Year-Program of Hubei has definitely proposed the strategy of Industry Promote the Economy of Hubei, following the new type way of industrialization, accelerating the process of industrialization, and promoting the Hubei's economic development rapidly and healthily. Therefore, the research on industrial competitiveness of Hubei province is a challenging and profound project. Through the studying of this paper, it can reveal the development advantages of Hubei industry all over the country and in Central China, and can explore the approaches to improve industrial competitiveness for serving the economy of Hubei better.The main content of the dissertation is as follows:(1) The background and the significance of studying on Hubei industrial competitiveness. The strategy of Central China Rising has begun to be carried into execution. For hoping to take the lead in rising in Central China and promote the economy of Hubei rising rapidly, it means to improve the competitiveness of Hubei. In terms of the core of national competitiveness is the industry competitiveness, promoting the industry competitiveness of Hubei is the key step of implementing the strategy of Central China Rising.(2) Introduction of the status of research on industrial competitiveness, and industrial competitiveness and regional industrial competitiveness on the basic concepts and content. A brief summary of regional industrial competitiveness theoretical basis: the comparative advantage and the competitive advantage. Also we analyzed the growth phases of the regional industrial competitiveness and the factors affecting regional industrial competitiveness.(3) Analyzed the present status of the industries in Hubei province. Hubei industrial structure sequence showes 231.The trend of Hubei industrial development isheavy industry petrochemical industry. But the industrial structure is irrational, and the benefit of economies of scale is not very well. Most industries lack enterprises and products, which are full of competitive advantages.(4) Using multiple methods of evaluation, it evaluated Hubei industrial competitiveness of industries, and established a comprehensive evaluation system. It mainly used comparative labor productivity, shift-share method and factor analysis to evaluate Hubei industrial competitiveness of industries.(5) Proposed the strategy emphases and suggestions for promoting Hubei industrial competitiveness of industries.(6) Finally, I summarized the dissertation, summed up the creative work and made an insight of the further research.
