| Wufeng County of Hubei Province is actively launching the national development pilot projects of “Creative Pilot of National Tea Park” as well as “National Famous Brand Demonstration Plots in Tea Industry”,in the hope of a thorough enhancement in its competitiveness,charisma and popularity through the reinforcement of industrial aggregation degree.In this way,a further integration will be achieved between local tea industry,tourism and culture,so will the goal to become a world-class tea-tourism destination.Thanks to the distinctive agricultural and forestry resource of Wuling Mountain,tea not only has been the core industry in Wufeng County for a long time,but it is also a fortune-making,healthy and ecological industry that can improve the effectiveness of agriculture,the income of farmers and the beautification of villages.In the new era where the policy of rural rejuvenation is on the schedule,how to promote the competitiveness and living standards of the minorities in Wufeng through the structural reform of supply-side is therefore worth discussing and researching.In the first place,with the aim to improve the competitiveness of the tea industry in Wufeng in the multidisciplinary framework of industrial economics,agricultural economics,development economics,regional economics and minority economics,this thesis has collected and referred to relative documents both domestically and abroad.With involved conceptions defined and researching methods chosen,the data needed has been collected through a field investigation and questionnaire surveys about the tea industry in Wufeng.What’s followed is a comprehensive and profound analysis on the development of Wufeng’s tea industry by the introduction of its planting scale,main varieties,technological development,the output and gross value.From the perspective of external competition,a comparative analysis is made between Wufeng and other powerful tea cities in China in terms of the value of both regionally used brand and enterprise products.The results have suggested that the external competition of Wufeng’s tea industry is good and has a certain popularity nationwide for the reason that its Maojian has topped the tea brands in Hubei.As the core teaproducing area in Yichang City and one of the most important in Hubei Province,although Wufeng’s tea plays a role in the nation’s tea output,there is still a long way to go when compared with other country-renowned tea counties.Specifically,the brand value of Wufeng Green Tea and Wufeng Black Tea is to be promoted.Similarly,its tea industry is only highly connected with the third industry,but moderately associated with both the first and the second industry.Then,from the perspective of internal competition,that is,scale,innovation,management,market and social efficiency,an index system is built of evaluation on the comprehensive competitiveness of Wufeng’s tea.With 20 different kinds of index data of 23 tea enterprises in Wufeng,G1-Coefficient of Variation Method is adopted to make an empirical analysis.It turns out that only 1 enterprise is leading the way,with 11 proceeding and another 11 catching up.This classification infers that the structure of tea enterprises in Wufeng is spiral-shaped or pyramid-like in three-dimensional space.Consequently,it is suggested that the development of tea industry in Wufeng should avoid a possible monopoly since the gap between enterprises on the top and in the middle is too wide,which will result in the descent of marginal effect as a whole.The key to the prevention is that enterprises in the middle should be given potent supports and the assistance of differentiation positioning.What’s more,it is important to encourage these enterprises to innovate their products in accordance to different markets.In the end,a conclusive generalization is made on developing problems of tea industry in Wufeng.In six aspects,namely the structural reform of supply-side of tea industry,its construction of regional brands,quality administration,specialized retailing markets,talents cultivating and laws and regulations,how to promote the competitiveness of tea industry is stated in the hope of a deeper implementation of the structural reform of supply-side,so as to help enforce the policy of rural rejuvenation,to quicken the pace of becoming the national brand and the world-renowned tea-tourism city. |
