Study On The Urban System Temporal And Spatial Structure Of Shandong Peninsula Urban Agglomerations

In the background of integrative economy all over world, the urbanization ofour country enters a fast developing period. Everyone knows when socialproductivity and science culture develop to a certain level and when sociallabor tract division reaches some degree that urban come into being. Urbanagglomerations gradually form and develop when social productivity moredeveloped, especially when merchandise economy and intercity traffic contactmore developed. In the course of urbanization, the construction of urbansystem is not only an important theoretical and realistic problem, but also animportant content of human geography research. Accordingly, the thesis takesShandong peninsula urban agglomerations as an example and tries to find outtemporal and spatial structure of the urban system. I hope it has some helpfulmeaning to developing of Shandong peninsula urban agglomerations.The thesis comprises five sections, namely, the preface, the grade scale andfunctional structure on urban system of Shandong peninsula urbanagglomerations, the dynamic change and trend analysis, the urban system'sspatial structure of Shandong peninsula urban agglomerations and thesuggestions.The preface briefly summarizes the concept of urban agglomeration and urbansystem, and the studies on urban system in China and other countries,combines the present situations in the world, then puts forward the aim andmeaning of the study. At last, author analyzes and appraises developingconditions of Shandong peninsula urban agglomerations.The second section focuses on the urban system's developing coursecontaining eight periods. Then the author expatiate its future developing trend.The third section mainly contains the urban system's grade scale andfunctional structure. The author calculates primate city and rank-size andfractal dimension of the urban system. Also the author analyzes all citiesfunction in Shandong peninsula urban agglomerations.The forth section analyzes spatial structure character of the urban system, andpoints out deficiency of the spatial structure. Then author gives some usefulsuggestions on how to optimize the spatial structure.The fifth section concludes suggestions of the urban system of Shandongpeninsula urban agglomerations.To some extent, the thesis brings out a new aspect of the study on urbansystem and offers lesson for the planning and construction of Shandongpeninsula urban agglomerations.
