Urban agglomeration spatial layout is an important content of urbanagglomeration development plan, which is the specific spatial allocationand combination of each production factor within the region. Reasonableurban agglomeration spatial layout is conductive to the full use of theregional advantage, and it is the most important premise for realizing theharmonious development of the region.Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration, as the emerging urbanagglomeration in eastern area, takes the resposibility of driving theeconomic development of Circum-Bohai-Sea region and Shandongprovince. How to perfect the Shandong peninsula urban agglomerationspatial layout, to build an effective urban system, to form a reasonableindustrial spatial layout, are the the problems that we encounter when wesolve the development of Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration. Theyare also the major breakthrough for better playing the role of driving thedevelopment of economyBasing on the basic theory study of urban agglomeration spatiallayout at home and abroad,the article takes the related experience ofdomestic urban agglomeration spatial layout for reference. Combiningwith the background of the development of Shandong peninsula urbanagglomeration, through adopting qualitative analysis,quantitativeanalysis and literature research methods, the ariticle makes a study of the current situation of Shandong peninsula urban agglomeration spatiallayout at the aspect of the urban system spatial layout and the industrialspatial layout.It also finds out the problems that exist in thedevelopment.On this basis, the article combines with the relevantdocuments of the government, and puts forward an optimized proposalfor Shandong peninsula urban agglomerations spatial layout. The mainconclusion of the artical is as follows:First, Shandong peninsula urban agglomerations urban systemspatial layout is not reasonable. It shows that the urban primacy ration ofthe central city is low,medium and small towns’development is notsound,the imbalance of the spatial structure and distribution and so on.Second, Shandong peninsula is in the period that transferring fromintermediate industrialization stage to the advanced.Industrial structureshould be further optimized. Industrial cluster has a large scale, but thetraditional industry, heavy industry accounts for a large proportion.Advanced manufacturing industry and high-tech industry is relativelysmall.Third, basing on the two main development axis in the zone-jiaojirailway and coastline, we are building and developing multiple vice axis.The main growth pole is still in Jinan and Qingdao.Fourth, in order to optimize the space layout one need to do thefollowing work: to build a reasonable urban system,speed up the optimization and adjustment of industrial structure upgrade, promoteindustrial concentration and intensive agglomeration development.
