The Research Towards Coordination On Regional Development Of The Corridor Region Of West Liaoning

This paper studies the inherent contradiction and problem exsiting in coordinateddevelopment of the Corridor Region of West Liaoning,utilizing theories and methods ofurban geography, urban planning, urban management, urban sociology, regional economicsand some related subjects, from the angle of theory and practice. Based on the ampleconsideration of the nature of the Corridor Region of West Liaoning and the externalenvironment of coordinated development, this paper has put forward the suggestion of themechanism of coordinated development,referring to the experience of domestic andinternational regional coordinated development.The first part defines some basic concepts involved in the paper: regional coordinateddevelopment, administrative district, economic district, metropolitan district and combinedcity. Then, the paper introduces three theories concerned with this research: the relatedtheory of regional relation, new regionalism theory, the theory of urban and regionadministration. Finally, the paper introduces the region relations in China.The second part discusses the general characteristic of the Corridor Region in WestLiaoning, and thoroughly analyzes the of tendency of four-city integration, subsequently,analyzes the problems and inherent contradictions in the process of coordinateddevelopment,such as industrial division and cooperation, infrastructure construction,ecological environment protection and key area and resource utility.The third part introduces the three patterns of coordinated management in foreignmetropolitan area, and analyzes the three typical cases of domestic and internationalregional coordination.The fourth part firstly analyzes the inside and outside environment of coordinateddevelopment and points out the principle of coordinated development, then puts forwardthe constructed proposal from the respects of system guarantee,service framework,benefitmechanism, coordinated organization, coordinated method, bourn adjustion and materialcoordinated content.The last part generalizes the main conclusion of this paper, and makes perspection forintending development in the corridor region of west Liaoning.
