Directed by location theory, urban and rural amalgamation theory, dualistic structure, coordinated development theory, and with combination of the actual development situation in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Region, urban and rural coordinated development in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Region is studied by principal component analysis method, with the introducing of the following two quantitative indexes:coordination degree and coordinated development degree.The research shows that there is an obvious regional difference in the level of coordinated development between urban and rural areas in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Region. On the macroscopic aspect, there is a decreasing trend from the north to the south gradually in the level of coordinated development between rule urban and rule. It is positive related to Regional economic development level and Urbanization level. The status of coordinated development in urban and rural is better in the region whose level of economy development and urbanization are higher. To improve the level of economy development and urbanization is the key point for coordinated development between urban and rural in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan Region.The coordinated development between urban and rural in Changsha-Zhuzhou-Xiangtan region is affected by the following reasons: two-dimension household register management system, job market of urban and rural intersected, Social Security System of urban and rural intersected, The historical roots of the land system of urban and rural intersected; Price scissors of agricultural and industrial products, macro policy of Market Orientation and effectiveness Orientation, Industrial policy and urban bias of Public resources policies, underlying reason of rural development itself for the low comparative efficacy in agricultural production, Lag of science and technology, low level of capitalization and industrialization.
