The Tendency Of Northeast Asia Regional Economic Cooperation In 21 Century And The Role Of China

With the development of economic globalization , regional economic cooperation becomes the mainstream of 21 century, no country could develop without effected by this tendency. As one of the important area of the world, Northeast Asia regional cooperation was first brought forward in the sixties of the 20th century, but it developed so slow and didn't show the positive attitude until nineties. Although the development of economic cooperation in Northeast Asia is rather slow than any other mature areas, but now it is becoming the focus of the world because of its large development space resulting from the special advantages of nature resources,location and mutual supplements.Northeast Asia is a vast area with heavy strength in economy. According to statistic, the total GDP of the six countries in Northeast Asia exceeds USD 6,000 billion in 2002, while that of the 10 countries in Southeast Asia was not up to USD 600 million. More than that,Northeast Asia economy is of strong mutual supplements,e.g. different development stages, ladder structure, special features of resources, etc. Each country can take the form of vertical share according to their own production factors, and also can take the form of horizontal share according to mutual supplements of resources. Each country can obtain comparative benefits from work share and it shows a strong tendency of economy future development.But the development of internal cooperation in Northeast Asia are not satisfied because of the different social systems together with the problems of political conflicts,military and history which make the conflict more complicated,From a certain point of view, Northeast Asia is a zoom of the political safety,different economy system and the opposite conceptions of the big countries, so it determines that Northeast Asia economic integration could not come into forth within a short period of time and it will become the necessity to step to the mutual cooperation under the circumstance of economy globalization.
