Screw is the core component of rubber and plastic extruder, its molded lines are combin ation of varying pitch, varying arris height, varying arris width, varying bottom radius and varying thread rake and relief angle one or more. This changeable size screw is named for het erotrophic screw, which is generally angular milled by special numerical control milling mach ine at present, however it makes poor surface roughness. After that outmoded technology of artificial buffing or semi-mechanical grinding is implemented to remove the machined trace, which is inefficiency and poor quality of screw. All that makes every performance index diffi-cult to meet the requirement and the cost performance of rubber extruder is reduced seriously.Therefore, this kind of several varying parameters screw requires ulteriorly grinding and polishing to improve screw surface precision, precisely control pressure and temperature in the extruding process, ensure the requirement of extruding performance. In order to realize the accuracy requirement, it is critical to develop a high-performance numerical control system to regulate the screw precision machining process. Development of CNC Machine Tools on Screw Polishing And Grinding, can accurately for the screw grinding process in realtime cont rol, and work out high quality of the extruder screw. It is extremely valuable not only because of saving fundings, but also can greatly shorten the production cycle of extruder screw.In this paper, the concept of CNC and its development trend are firstly introduced, in ad-dition, this paper introduces the source of this topic and the significance and content of this research. Then it describes the processing principle of CNC machine tools on screw polishing and grinding machine, the mechanical structure of a grinding machine, the mechanical structu re design, the transmission system of choice and selection, the major parts of strength and life of the check. Moreover, it describes the hardware of CNC system and the advantage and perfo rmance of open CNC system, the structural form and characteristic of open CNC system base d on PC, conforms that the CNC system based upon6050, then it Adopts the open architectur e in model of NC inserting PC. The author researches the functions, communication settings and hardware connector of6050, circuit design, motor selection. Finally, this numerical contr-ol system software design, make full use of Visual C++6.0, GDI drawing technique, construct s the software framework of screw polishing and grinding CNC system.
