Traditional machining work can not match the development of society nowadays because of its lower efficiency, lower precision and a lot of labor force needed. So Numerical Control machine is widely accepted by people now. The requirement for multi-axis numerical control system, the top products of numerical control systems, is gradually increasing. It is widely used in intersection machine, machining center, etc.This article use intersection cutting machine as the point, do some work on multi-axis numerical control systems, include hardware structure and software function. A scheme is brought forward aimed at intersection system and a sample machine is made. In the article’s hardware part, a set of hardware requirement, like industrial PC, motion card, is also listed. The motion card should provide motion control interface, IO check module, limits and home signal capture function, etc. In software part, a friendly human-computer interface was designed. Software also controlled the working of motion card, GE400, and the communication between UI interface and low level hardware. Furthermore, for it is hardly to find a intersection CAM software which is suitable for small companies, we also develop a easy use CAM soft with the numerical control system. Some math model is particularly describing in the article, and Matlab validate result after it.Now, the system is already passed testing and debugging. The result of tests shows that the system workable and suitable. It reaches the requirement of customers. The article is also shows a way of following research to improve and increase the performance of the system.
