In the trend of the economic globalization and social informatization, Chinese corporations are facing the unprecedented competition pressure. How to improve core competences of Chinese corporations to make them survive and develop quickly, become a real issue that all corporations must face. Between seventies and eighties in the 20th century, corporate culture become a new theory. Theorists begin to unite corporate culture and performance together, and make corporate culture the basis of good corporate performance because corporate culture really plays an important part to the long-term corporate performance.On the background of economic globalization and knowledge economy, corporate culture is not only a kind of management mode but also an important part of corporate core competence,how to take the advantage of corporate culture to construct and enhance core competence is becoming the development trend of academic research.This article studies corporate culture and core competence, reviews the basic theories of corporate culture and core competence, and analyzes the relations between corporate culture and corporate core competence and proposes the viewpoint that corporate culture is the core of core competence and corporate culture innovation is the foundation of the enhancement of core competence. This article also proposes the basic ideas of corporate culture construction basing on core competence, to provide the reference and the model pattern for other corporates.
