The Study On Location Choice Of Cruise Home Port

Cruise is known as the resort flowing in the sea. It made higher economic effectiveness, so the cruise industry became sunrise industries. Cruise economy is economic phenomena that cruise industry promotes and stimulates related industries to develop at same time. Cruise economy is mature in Europe and the United States, while it begins to develop in Asia. As new cruise markets, Asia, especially the Chinese market, has become the next focus of global competition of cruise industry. The huge economic effects make port cities in China constructing home ports, and the problem of location choice of home port needs to be resolved. While the domestic studies only focused on the development mode, experience studying, economy impacts and so on, which is mature. While the study on development potential of cruise and impact factors in the beginning stage of cruise development are few. China's home ports construction is still in the initial stage, the study on impact factors of location choice of home port have practical significance in the optimization of the potential cruise home port and practical guide construction of home ports.The thesis conducts research from location conditions of cruise home ports, and use method which includes quantitative and qualitative analysis. On one hand, the port's location theory is applied to the theory of location options of cruise home ports. On the other hand, the model is applied to the test of location conditions of cruise home ports, which would conduct on China's location choice of cruise home ports.The theoretical foundation of thesis is location theory.After reviewing western classical location theory, modern location theory, and the thesis made the review of the literature from the perspective of location factor. Meanwhile, on the bases of review of the theory of harbor location, relative research achievements in recent years, analysis of location factor from macro-analysis and micro-analysis and analysis the location advantage of foreign home port, the thesis made systematic and comprehensive analysis of the location conditions of cruise home ports. Through comprehensively conclusions of the location conditions of the cruise home ports, the thesis build an index system of the location choice of cruise home port. Using analytic hierarchy process, the thesis found the important factors of location choice of cruise home port. Next, using evaluation model of the location choice, the thesis made the comprehensive analyses among three cruise home port, Shanghai, Shenzhen and Tianjin, and evaluated location strength of three ports and most potential home port. Finally, according to the results of the analysis, studying the regional advantages of stronger home port, the thesis put forward suggestions on how to play regional advantages to the weaker cruise home port of Tianjin.
