In recent years, the world’s cruise industry has been growth rapidly. With thepromising development of Chinese economy, more and more international cruise dockto Chinese ports, which greatly promote the growth of tourism, that is to say thecruise industry also has a strong driving force on Chinese economy. By2020, Chinawill become one of the world’s major tourist destinations, and will attract moreinternational cruise berthing. China’s cruise economy will inevitably become thefocus of attention.Currently, such as Xiamen, Shanghai, Haikou, Dalian, Qingdao and other majorcoastal port cities are actively promoting the planning and construction of cruisehomeport. Therefore, the development and construction of cruise homeport haveimportant strategic significance to the regional economy, as well as China’s economy.The port has the good foundation and broad space to build a cruise homeport, as thelargest coastal hub port in northern China, located in the center of Bohai Bayeconomic circle, backed by the “Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei” urban cities, here citiescovered densely, economic development. Meanwhile, The port has obviousgeographic advantages, excellent basic conditions, the vast hinterland, rich tourismresources, improved service facilities. All of these are the right conditions to developand construct a cruise homeport and to provide efficient and convenient services forcruise tourism.This thesis mainly studies the cruise homeport’s effect on the regional economy.First elaborated the basic economic theory and domestic and aboard status of thecruise economy, and systematically sorts out the study of the advantages anddisadvantages of the regional cruise economy. Secondly, take Tianjin cruise port asexample; comprehensively use various technical methods to do empirical research,including financial evaluation, national economic evaluation and environmentalevaluation. With the scientific evaluation system, the study measures the researchresults, as support the feasibility of building a cruise homeport and its important rolein regional economic development. These results indicate that the coastal area shouldseize the opportunities of development of the cruise industry, create conditions for thedevelopment of cruise economy, and establish the transmission mechanism of cruiseeconomic effects in order to gain economic effects throughout the region, which willfurther promote a positive impact on the economic development of the region.
