Study On The Selection Criteria And Attractiveness Of International Cruise Terminal

Modern cruise industry was born in the late 1960 s,known as "a sea floating resort" and "an important economic growth pole of port cities". Four special characteristics- high drive, high growth, high profit rate and high satisfaction- of cruise tourism make itself become "Sunrise industry" and "Gold industry" of the most development potential. Cruise industry worldwide grows rapidly. In our country, the cruise tourism is still an newly emerging tourism form and the coastal port cities treat cruise tourism with great enthusiasm. It runs like a raging fire. But for the coastal port cities, driven by the huge economy pulling effect of cruise tourism, the positioning on the future development of cruise port is not reasonable, lack of proper planning and rational thinking.Based on the carding of cruise tourism related research at home and abroad and expert consultation through field interviews,this paper analyzes the factors influencing the attraction of international cruise home port, abstracts the common factors of home port selection of the international cruise lines and constructs a set of standards about international cruise home port selection. Taking Shanghai international cruise home port as an example, this paper evaluates its attraction.On the basis of this, the strategies and measures to promote optimization development of Shanghai international cruise home port in the future are put forward.First of all, based on the systematically the existing research at home and abroad, this paper explains the research background and research significance, shows the train of thought, defines the related concepts and introduces system theory, cruise tourism sustainable development theory and standardization theory as the theoretical support.Secondly, based on the study of development experience of the world famous international cruise home port, this paper analyses the impact factors and mechanism of international-cruise-home-port attraction. By generally extracting commons in the development of the world-famous international cruise home port,this paper discusses the home port choice behavior of the international cruise company. The factors of international-cruise- home-port attraction and the home-port choice of international cruise company interact. On the basis of this, a set of scientific and reasonable selection criteria is built.Finally, taking Shanghai international cruise home port as an example, this paper, based on the selection criteria of international cruise home port,evaluates its attraction and puts forward the corresponding optimization strategy in view of the shortcomings.
