Evaluation Of Technological Innovation Capability Of Shanxi Equipment Manufacturing Industry

The equipment manufacturing industry plays an important role in a country's economic development, its development affect directly other industries, economic restructuring and industrial upgrading and transforming. From the developed countries point of view, the equipment manufacturing undertake the responsibility to provide support to other sectors. Its development level is the sign of regional industrialization. The equipment manufacturing industry of Shanxi Province fall behind in our country. It has significant meaning for the constraint of resource sector overgrowth, the industrial restructuring, structure of industrial restructuring, economic transformation.Technological innovation is the key to equipment manufacturing development. This paper assess technological innovation capability from the perspective of technological innovation progress. At last, the evaluation index hierarchy which estimates technological innovation capability of Shanxi equipment manufacturing is designed, through analysing the factors of technological innovation capability of Shanxi equipment manufacturing. In the process, literatures and Shanxi characters are taked into account. In the paper, the data which is collected from 2000 to 2008 is divided into 63 sets as sample, through using factor analysis method to extract the resources investment factor, output factor, industry internal support factor, industry external support, research factor, and non-research factor in the technological innovation, and calculate the each industral general score according to the factor's weight, then rank the score by order:Special Purpose Equipment Manufacturing, Instruments, Meters, Cultural and Office Machinery, Telecommunication Equipment, Compute and Other Electronic Product, Transport equipment Manufacturing, Ordinary Machinery Manufacturing, Metal Products. Finally, corresponding advice is provided through vertically and horizontally comparing the each factor.The innovation of this paper is that a method based on the process of technological innovation is used to evaluate the innovation ability of Shanxi equipment manufacturing and draw the following three conclusions:First, the strength of technological innovation depends on its all aspects. The effect of technology innovation to be shown when the various aspects of technological innovation have increased. Second, to some extent, efficiency is restricted capacity of industry's technology innovation. Third, the enterprise should exert the dominant role in the process of promoting the technological innovation. Finally, concrete measure is presented on Shanxi equipment manufacturing.
