Research On China Inland Dry Ports Developing Mode And Competitiveness Evaluation

With the trend of economic globalization, the inland dry ports'construction and development are highly promoted by both the demands of development for worldwide costal ports as well as inland city, and the objective needs of container intermodal development. The dry port, as a vital node of transportation network in inner land, is playing an important role in improving the efficiency of transport services and promoting the regional economy. The practice of dry port construction in China started from year 2002, developing rapidly and expanding on a large scale since then. In the meantime, many defects exist due to lack of experiences. Therefore, analyzing the dry port and proposing with the new ideas of construction and development are of great significance for ensuring its healthy development.To enable the development of inland dry port adapt to the requirements of economic and transport under new trend, also to achieve its independence and large scale, this paper, with the theoretical orientation of competitiveness analysis and comprehensive evaluation, combines both the theories and practices, considers both the qualitative description and quantitative analysis, on one hand proposes with the new mode of China inland dry port development; on the other establishes comprehensive evaluation index system, integrates the methods of analytic hierarchy process and fuzzy comprehensive evaluation, analyzes and evaluates the competitiveness of typical inland dry ports in China, thus to get a clear vision of their strengths and weaknesses, and put forward advice and measures for future development of inland dry ports. This paper is composed of six parts:The first part generally introduced the purpose and the significance of the subject, the domestic and international research development statues of the dry port theory and practice, which leads to the main research content and methods of the thesis.The second part analyzes the relevant content of dry port, including definitions, functions and classifications, in which mainly clarify the dry port's functions and characteristics according to its traditional classification, in order to have fundamental work for detailed analyzing China dry ports.The third part specifically analyzes the current status and defects of China dry ports'developments. Based on the same, the paper proposes new goals and modes for dry port development, and further analyzes each component and links.The fourth part selects several typical dry ports in China, analyzes their developing situations under the guidance of new modes, and then adopts SWOT to preliminarily get the overall competitiveness of these dry ports.The fifth part establishes the inland dry port competitiveness evaluation index system, uses the integration of AHP and Fuzzy to assess the selected objectives, and then analyzes the outcome and accordingly brings out the advice for dry port further developments.The sixth part summarizes the work of the thesis, proposes the conclusion and prospects about the future research work.
