A Study On Influence Factors And Suggestions Of Energy Efficiency And Emission Reduction Promotion In Hotels

Along with economic development and frequently exchange activities, hotel industry has been developing rapidly. However, looking from the hotel resource consumption, the production system of hotel industry still belong to the traditional economical movement pattern, which is―resource - product - waste‖, with a―high input, high consumption, high pollution‖characteristic. Facing the fierce market competition and the rising energy price, energy saving and emission reduction has been one of the key aspects for hotel to reduce the cost burden and enhance the competitive power. Meanwhile, facing the serious energy crisis and environment crisis, hotel industry as a representative of the urban development, carrying out energy saving and emission reduction has a profound significance, which is not only to improve and strengthen the image of hotel industry and whole region, but also to ease energy crisis and environmental pollution, to promote sustainable development of society.At present, the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction in hotel industry is slow, although has made certain progress. The academic research on the energy efficiency and emission reduction in hotel industry relatively lag behind, which mainly limits to the introduction of specific equipment and technology, the research from the perspective of management is very little, there is almost no quantitative research article. The depth and breadth of research can't satisfy the need of practical work.This paper will use theoretical and empirical analysis to research the influence factors of energy efficiency and emission reduction promotion in hotels. Firstly, based on the reference of domestic and foreign scholar's research, the author summed up six participators during the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction in hotel industry, and constructed a model to show the relationship between them. Secondly, this paper, based on the questionnaires and deep interviews, carried on an empirical research aiming at the influence factors of energy efficiency and emission reduction promotion in hotels by taking star-rated hotels in Guangdong Province as an example. Through the factor analysis, we obtained five influence factors, calculated the influencing degree of each factor to the whole hotel industry and different star-rated hotels, and constructed a model of influence factors of promoting energy efficiency and emission reduction in hotels. Thirdly, this article proposed some suggestions to speed up the hotel industry carrying out energy efficiency and emission reduction.I hope that this study will enrich and promote the research level of the energy efficiency and emission reduction in hotel industry, accelerate the implementation of energy efficiency and emission reduction in hotels, reduce the energy consumption and pollution situation of hotel industry, relieve the energy shortage and environmental pollution, contributing to the twelfth five-year-plan and resource conservation and environment friendly society.
