Energy is the material basis of human society and the important resource of economic development and social progress. As the world's largest developing country, China's rapid economic growth is based on ultra-high energy consumption and waste. At present. China has become the world's second largest energy consumer, and is the world's fastest growing energy consumer. However, if current trends continue, face the rapid economic development, energy issues will inevitably be a bottleneck in China's economic development. In addition, not only the coal, oil-based energy consumption structure promote rapid economic development in China, but also give our lives a series of negative effects. This not only restricted to some extent the economic and efficient development, but also damage the ecological environment, and even affect the survival of mankind itself. Therefore, the effect of the energy consumption to economic growth arising from academic attention at home and abroad, there has been a lot of valuable research results. In this paper, the various provinces of the energy consumption and economic growth is used as the research object, the data period 1978-2008 is used, correlation analysis, regression analysis. Gini coefficient classical econometric methods is used to analyze the total energy consumption on the economy growth in inter-provincial differences. The following conclusions:Since reform and opening. China's various provinces of energy consumption and economic development shows a growing trend, but there are significant differences in different provinces and the eastern, central and western regions; there are a significant positive impact between different provinces of energy consumption on economic growth, but the provinces are very different between the degree of influence; energy consumption impact on economic growth in the Gini coefficient is 0.2441. indicating that after the reform and opening up the energy consumption impact on economic growth differences are more balanced. Finally, the author based on the results of theoretical and empirical analysis, from the energy development strategy, energy consumption structure, the three aspects of the energy regulatory system provides some suggestions targeted to the energy consumption of China's sustainable development in the future direction, while reinforce their sense of energy and energy conservation, environmental protection responsibility.
