The Study On Economic Cooperation Between Border Areas Of Fujian And Its Neighboring Provinces

Under the new situation of the rapid development of economic globalization, the agglomeration, driving and cooperation effects of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits are becoming increasingly prominent. If the cooperation between border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces serves as the historical background of the integrated development of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits, which is beneficial for better serving the industrial division and element integration in the Economic Zone and promote the overall strength of the Economic Zone, extending the southern side and the northern side of the Taiwan Straits, promoting the advantage complementation, positive interaction and coordinated development in the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits and the Yangtze River Delta and the Pearl River Delta, developing the middle and western regions to strengthen cooperation and expand the hinterland of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits. Therefore, cooperation with border areas plays an important role in promoting the integration development process and the extension of regional economic cooperation of the Economic Zone. It's an important part of regional coordination and regional economic cooperation of the Economic Zone. Fujian should play the main role in developing the border areas in the process of the integrated development of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits, and at the same time, push forward the integration process by promoting the development of cooperation between border areas.This study combines the methods of literature analysis, comparative analysis, qualitative and quantitative analysis and comprehensive evaluation to discuss the economic cooperation between the border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces from the perspective of the integrated development of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits. Firstly, this study discusses the motivation of economic cooperation from the trend of the integration development and the development needs of border areas; Secondly, the study analyzes the situation of economic cooperation from the history and reality, summarizes the achievements and problems of economic cooperation since the strategy of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits was implemented, and also conducts a detailed comparative analysis of the border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces from their conditions including the level of economic development, natural resources, labor factors, capital factor, industry conditions and other respects; Finally, based on the analysis and comparison, the study proposes the path and suggestions for promoting the economic cooperation of the border areas and the integration development of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits.This study believes that the economic cooperation of border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces is the urgent need of the integration development of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits and the integration development of the border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces. The border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces have a long history of economic exchanges. They have made outstanding success since the implementation of the strategy in the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits, but there are also many problems in economic cooperation. Through the analysis and comparison, we know that the border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces have differences and complementarities in natural resources, labor factors, capital factors, industry conditions, and other respects, thus having a good basis for cooperation and development. Giving full consideration to the status and basic conditions of the border areas with the requirements of the integration of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits, the study puts forward the mode of "one axis and three groups" in order to promote interaction between integration development of the Economic Zone and the cooperation between border areas. Also this study provides the different paths of economic cooperation for southern, northern and central border areas. This study proposes some strategies and suggestions for economic cooperation between border areas of Fujian and its neighboring provinces during the integration development of the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits, and such strategies and suggestions include establishing a policy platform and coordination mechanisms, a good pattern of industry development division of labor in and out of the border areas and market adjustment mechanism to break the administrative institutional barriers, promoting the infrastructure development to serve the integration development and enhancing environmental cooperation to create ecological protection for the rise of the Economic Zone on the Western Side of the Taiwan Straits.
