Study On Corporate Culture Change

Excellent corporate culture can bring persistent competition advantage for enterprises, and promote enterprise's long-term development, it is the footstone for enterprise to make it evergreen. But if corporate culture is invariable for a long time, and it can't adapt the need for enterprise development, it will become the obstacle for enterprises and will make enterprises prematurely senile. So, Research on corporate culture change has important meanings in theory and practice.At first, it's simply reviewed that the researches of changing corporate culture domestic and abroad in the article. Next, it summarizes corporate culture change, which include the reason for corporate culture change and the content for corporate culture change by using concept of corporate culture defined by Schein. Then, this article applies the theory of Adizes' enterprise life cycle, combining with six organizational culture dimensions of Organizational Culture Assessment Instrument (OCAI) in 'the Competing Value Framework' of Quinn. It sums up cultural characteristics of six aspects at the enterprise's different life cycle stages , then it educes dominant cultural characteristics and culture types of enterprise's growing stage,maturation stage and decline stage, and puts forward the changing direction of corporate culture at different life stages. Finally, the example of Lenovo and IBM, which makes corporate culture change adapting their development, is analyzed.There are two innovation points in this article. The first one is that it confirms life cycle stage enterprise at by using Competing Value Framework of Quinn, which can measure actuality of corporate culture, The second one is combining the enterprise's different life cycle stages, it studies the changing direction of corporate culture, and sets up a model of changing direction of corporate culture.
