It has gained universal acknowledgement and recognition of various countries on tourism's important effect to regional economy. The key point is how to estimate its economic impact and performance. At present domestic are less to its fundamental research, people have not deep understanding to the present development of regional tourism, it causes some provinces and cities have the big blindness, and lack the scientific plan. Therefore, from the output point of view, this paper constructs the economic performance appraisal system on regional tourism. Such research shall play a significant role academically and practically in this field.At first, this paper introduces the research background and the current studies domestic and overseas briefly, points out their shortcomings and deficiency, and explains the technical course and main research contents. Then, this paper establishes an economic performance appraisal system for regional tourism on the theoretical basis of the tourism multiplier theory, the zone theory and the unbalanced theory.In demonstration, this paper uses the statistical analysis software of EXCEL, SPSS11.5, and uses factor analysis to appraise and compare the economic performance of regional tourism in our country taking 31 provinces as the regional study unit. It comes to the conclusion that the overall level is low, the development of regions are unbalanced; The economic performance of regional tourism tallies highly with the level of regional economic development; the economy scale and management level of tourism influence great to the economic performance of regional tourism. At last this paper puts forward some idiographic countermeasures and advices to strengthen the economic performance of regional tourism.
