Lifecycle Process Integration Management Of Construction Projects

With the development of society and economy, domestic and international construction projects show new trends. Construction projects are becoming larger and the clients are requiring for lifecycle integrated service of construction projects. The construction industry is suffering from fragmented working process. And project process integration management is becoming the hot research area.After literature review of process integration, the thesis proposes the frame work of lifecycle process integration based on system integration theory. The construction process information integration is the kernel of process integration. There are two kinds of methods for process integration, the technological method and the organizational method. The technological method means the use of Information Technology (IT) to facilitate the information integration of all participants, while the organizational method involves the use of more integrated project management model, such as Design-Build.The thesis then focuses on the detailed study on the two methods. As to the technological one, IDEF0 is used for construction project modeling to establish the information communication links of construction processes. Then it makes study on how to manage the information between participants with the use of IT, especially the use of construction project information platform and 4D model.As to the organizational method, the thesis first studies process integration's influence on project organization efficiency, and the process integration of different project management models as well as their relations.Finally the thesis studies the provisions and policies of relevant ministry with the prospect of process integration in China's construction industry.
