The Yellow River Three canyons scenic spot is the key scenic spot in Gansu Province, the Bingling temple is one of the three largest grottoes in Gansu. The paper did a research on Scenic Spots, which related to resources' feature and location, tourist market, and assessment of resources as well. The author hopes offer some helps to local governments, planners, developers and manager to develop tourism of Scenic Spots, as well as aids to the growth of scenic resources' assessment.In this paper, the author firstly analyzed the resources and location conditions of Scenic Spots. The Yellow River Three Canyons plays an important role in the Xi'an -Lanzhou- Chengdu traveling line. In natural characteristic, the Yellow River Three Canyons scenic has vast lake, and wetland. Tourism resources are primarily by historical landscape and waters scenery; it has important historical scientific value.Secondly, the author analyzed the tourist markets. The majority of tourists come from Lanzhou and its neighborhood. The main content is tourist's social economy characteristic, travel the motive, the time characteristic and the spatial characteristic. The analysis result showed that, tourist travel primarily base on sightseeing and vacation. The tourist expenditure is not high, by one-day travel and two- day travel.Thirdly, the author set up a value classifying system, then evaluated the tourism values by TCM, intrinsic values by CVM and then analyzed the factors' effects to tourists' WTP (Willing to Pay) by Cross-tabulation and Chi-Square analyses. The results show that in 2005, the tourism value of is 133 million RMB, the intrinsic value is 105 million RMB; the author found that option value is 25 million RMB, Inheritance value is 31 million RMB and Existence value is 99 million RMB.Finally, the paper gave some conclusion. In addition, the author tabled the innovations, deficiencies and prospects of the research.
