| We try to understand the work stress of the middle level managers from large sized state owned enterprises (SOEs), to analyze what the work stressors are and try to find some appropriate measures to deal with work stress and put forward feasible suggestions to SOE management to promote middle-level managers to inspire their potentials fully.In order to fully understand the work stressor, work stress and how to manage work stress from organization and behavior's perspective, a certain quantity of questionnaire are collected. There are 273 middle-level managers from 18 large sized SOEs are required to answer these questionnaires. This paper use SPSS for Windows to analyze these collected questionnaires. The analysis tell us that the work stressor includes task control, relationship with up-level managers, SOE organization structure, working environment, career development, company climate, workload and responsibility. Among which, there are education degree and section difference for task control, age and education degree and section difference for organization structure, section difference for career development, education difference for company culture, section difference for workload, and age and education degree and section difference for responsibility. There is no gender difference for all work stressors. The task control, relationship with up-level management and organization structure are the main work stressors for middle-level managers from SOE, which is different from the ones for other type enterprises. This analysis shows the work stress is over for the middle-level management of SOEs.Finally, this paper put forward appropriate suggestions to deal with the work stress from three different perspectives: state-owned assets management, enterprise management and manager individual, first, to further strengthen SOE reform and establish and perfect company management structure; second, to strengthen enterprise internal management and establish corporation system; third, to conduct employee assistance plan within the enterprise; fourth, to set up trainings for middle level managers to deal with work stress. This paper try to help middle-level managers from SOEs to remove the work stress and improve the work efficiency based on the above four suggestions. |
