Research On The Role Of Development Zone In Urban Spatial Structure Changes In Lanzhou

Taking the establishment of Shenzhen and other special economic zones in 1980 as a sign, after fast development for over two decades, various development zones created huge achievements in the field of economic development as well as city construction in China. The position of development zones, one of the main content of change in urban spatial structure during last two decades in China, not only significantly accelerated the development of the national economy and society as well as the town planning tenor, but also tremendous affected the propagation velocity and configuration of urban land.At present time, China is on the stage of cosmical adjustment transformation. According to rare investigations aiming at the undeveloping westen cities, present study reviewed developing history of development zone in globle, summed up the content diverse insights and stages on the research of development zone, focused summarized the the relationship between development zone and city as well as region. On the base of above work, our study summarized the primary research matter of development zone and evolvment of urban spatial structure and select Lanzhou, a typical valley-cities as a demonstrating study.Starting with analysis of the developing background and situation, spatail position and evolvement of function of Lanzhou development zone, this thesis reviewed the relationship between city and developing zone on different stages, clarifed the evolving process and function of development zone and urban structure of Lanzhou by the effects of urban spatial structure on position, diffusion and restriction of development zone and the effects of development zone on urban spatial. The development zone influenced urban spatial structure of Lanzhou from three aspects, bringing on the increase of urban space, evolvement of urban functional region and re-construction of interior space in city, and turned into the one of staples and leaders of urban spatial structure evolvement in Lanzhou scince 90s.At last, comparing with other valley-cities, this thesis indicated the model, characteristics and dynamical mechanism of development zone and urban spatial structure evolvement of Lanzhou city. Moreover, our study advanced the general exploiting strategy of development zone in Lanzhou and the harmonizing developing strategy with Lanzhou city under the background of great adjustment for national development policies and new developing position of Lanzhou city.
