Relationship Of Time Management Disposition And Job Burnout Of Middle-level Managers In Enterprises

The aim of this research is to explore the influence of time management disposition on the formation and development of job burnout, at the same time, offering a direction of psychology of personality so as to intervene effectively job burnout. The time management disposition scale, self-esteem scale, self-efficacy scale and job burnout questionnaire was used to investigate 301 middle-level managers of enterprises. The conclusions are listed as follows:1 The ratio of middle-level managers of enterprises who have emotional exhaustion is 12.6%, the ratio of middle-level managers of enterprises who depersonalization is 47.5%, the ration of middle-level managers of enterprises who have reduction of personal accomplishment is 32.2%. What is more, the ratio of middle-level managers of enterprises who are diagnosed as having low job burnout is 37.9%, the ratio of middle-level managers of enterprises who are diagnosed as having moderate job burnout is 21.3%, the ratio of middle-level managers of enterprises who are diagnosed as having high job burnout is 4%.2 As far as enterprise type, gender, ages and degree of education are concerned, enterprise type shows significant difference on the dimension of time management disposition in middle-level managers of enterprises. The score of male middle-level managers on depersonalization are significantly higher than female middle-level managers. No differences were found between enterprise types, gender, ages ,and also the degree of education on the dimension of self-esteem in middle-level managers of enterprises. The score of female middle-level managers'is apparently higher than that of male middle-level managers on the dimension self-efficacy.3 The three dimension of time management disposition has a significant positive correlation with self-esteem and self-efficacy (p<0.01), and has a significant negative correlation with the three dimensions of job burnout (p<0.01, p<0.05). The three dimensions of job burnout have an apparently negative correlation with self-esteem, self-efficacy (p<0.01).4 The results show time worth of middle-level managers of enterprises is highly consistency, the score of time worth middle-level managers'is very high. Partial, rather than full, mediation effect of time efficacy is found between time control behaviors and self-esteem, self-efficacy and job burnout variables from the data.5 Partial, rather than full, mediation effect of self-esteem, self-efficacy is found between time management disposition and job burnout variables. (1) The use of time control behaviors results in time efficacy's increase, even more time efficacy improves degree of self-esteem and self-efficacy of middle-level managers, then affects the degree of job burnout by self-esteem and self-efficacy. (2) The use of time control behaviors straightly improves middle-level managers'degree of job burnout.
