Forign Trade Related Supply Chains' Classification And The Performance

The increasingly intensive globalization of China's economy forces the foreign trade related firms to improve their supply chain management. By evaluating the performance of different type of supply chain they may concern, the foreign trade related firms will know which type supply chain they should have, how to define their positions in the chains, and how to strengthen their functions in chains.Based on a thorough review of the literatures in supply chain classification and performance research, sample foreign trade enterprises from Hunan province were examined. Investigation showed that the supply chains that foreign trade companies engaged in can be divided into two types: stable supply chain with own manufacturers or plants, and dynamic supply chain. Evaluation based on SCPR1.0 showed that the performance of a stable foreign trade supply chain is much better than that of a dynamic foreign trade supply chain.This thesis first introduced the theories of supply chain performance evaluation and current situation of supply chain classification. Then the paper analyzed the indexes both had been taken and should be taken as reference by foreign trade enterprises in supply chain performance evaluation. On demonstration design, fundamental assumption and analyzed the statistics, the thesis put forward a supply chain type choosing policy for the foreign trade enterprises , and also pointed out the way to implement it in reality.
